Great story….I loved it and I’m happy for you. I have Mobile Me…hadn’t yet set it up on my iPhone when it was lost/taken 9/11…still I don’t see why AT&T or any other network would allow that serial number to be used on their network.

I’m a bit worried you took chances with your safety just to get back a phone, but I totally understand. I don’t know why we get so attached to them :)

I wish I could do what you did….great story!

You have the option to sound a high-pitched alert when you send a notice to the device, and it *does* sound when the ringer is turned off.

Actually….as long as you didn’t have the ringer completely off, I believe that you could. You have the ability to send messages to the phone (like I was doing) and when those messages arrive there is a two minute alarm that goes off with each one. I *think* if the ringer is completely off, it doesn’t sound, but it would be awesome if it did.

A neat feature through mobile me would be the ability to make the phone sound off on command whether or not the phone was turned down or sound switch was off.

Thanks! Yeah, it is a calculated risk to be sure. I am sure if the location had been on the docks somewhere in the middle of the night, we would have approached things a little differently.
