Following my post the other day, @dens, one of the co-founders of Foursquare stopped by to offer his two cents on my whinging post about the service and was INCREDIBLY GRACIOUS given that he had just stumbled upon my ranting nonsense. I think it’s great that..what…an hour after I posted, he arrived. They clearly have a Summize Twitter Search feed to mentions, but more importantly, they USE IT TO INTERACT WITH THEIR USERS AND ADDRESS THEIR CONCERNS. Community Management FTW.

Much to my delight, the next day I was entering a venue at breakfast and LO AND BEHOLD a confirmation screen appeared when I added a venue that matched the name of another place in the database. I wasn’t magically transported across town! I got to choose from a list and pick just the right spot. *breath of fresh air* Now, I’m not stupid enough to think this happened as a result of my complaining. I’m sure it was just a happy coincidence, but it was AWESOME. Totally solved my biggest bugaboo with the service. Well done, sincerely.

Yesterday, I even became a mayor for the first time, only to be usurped today, but whatevs. Totally itching to riff on the game.
